"At this time next year, I'll be a senior!" I told my mom the night before the first day of classes in my junior year. I had a feeling that this semester was going to be a busy one, but it was definitely confirmed once I left school on Tuesday afternoon, after officially beginning each one of my five classes. After my Monday classes, I left with a sense of "I can do this!" That feeling changed after leaving my Tuesday classes. I left Science Methods filled with confusion and doubt in myself.
On Tuesday, Dr. Smirnova had us read letters from previous students who had just finished Science Methods. The majority of those letters talked about how we needed to have time management and stay on task. The class was going to be difficult, but in the end it would be worth it. Thinking about it now, of course it isn't going to be easy. We are taking these classes to be teachers, which is a hard, but very important job.
Fast forward to Thursday and I find myself sitting in Science Methods again, but this time it was different. I took the time after our first class on Tuesday to sit, read the syllabus and talk with friends in order to get on the same page. I'm looking forward to learning what this class entails and working toward becoming a fantastic teacher.
